THE BAND DEEPLY MOURNS THE PASSING of tuba player and friend Eric Healy, who died in an automobile accident on Sunday, March 17, 2002. The band offers its sympathies to Eric's mother Judy, brother Mark and the entire family. We would also like to thank the members of the Southwest Community Band for their participation in the visitation and funeral services on March 21 and 22. |

JAZZ BAND WOWS THEM AT DISCOVER TINLEY On Saturday, April 13, the Jazz Band played at the Tinley Park Convention Center for Discover Tinley Expo 2002 where businesses, service organizations, nonprofit groups and government agencies showcase what they and Tinley Park has to offer. ![]() | TAKE OFF FOR THE GREAT WHITE NORTH, EH? The Arts Alive! Jazz Band along with the Chorale took an extended Canada Day weekend: Friday, June 28 through Monday, July 1, 2002 in Toronto. The Jazz Band played one concert at the base of CN Tower (that tall pointy thing in the picture) and an administrative problem foils an attempt at a second performance. WINTER CONCERT MARKS END OF YEAR Thanks to everyone for attending the band's Winter Concert on Sunday, December 8 with the Arts Alive! Chorale in the new Performing Arts Center at Victor J. Andrew High School. The audience gave the theatre high marks for comfort, but the band really would like some light on stage to see their music. |
