First
name? Alice; many people call me Al. In
which town do you live? Chicago, next to Midway Airport.
How do you make your living? I coordinate special events and provide
general office support for the University Mission Office at DePaul University. How
long have you been a member of the Arts Alive Band? Only since August 2001,
but I feel we've been connected for years. |
Witness Alice's participation in the 1980's hat craze, and
her brothers Chris and Dave, who are not fond of smiling. |
What instrument(s) do you
play? Flute. Sometimes I play the kazoo at parties, but that's another
story for another time.

Alice graduated from DePaul University in 1999, proving it is not just a basketball
school.

How
long have you been playing it/them? Since 1984 (the year, not the Van Halen
album).

Alice and her favorite clarinetist (Sorry Terry!) and friend -- Lisa Z.
Alice
loves Halloween. Here she is a few years ago as Little Red Riding Hood.
> | | Are
you involved in any other musical groups, either inside or outside the Arts Alive
system? If so, which ones? No, but I sing in the shower a lot. I
also took dancing lessons with my favorite clarinetists, Lisa Zelinski and Terry
Elliott.
What
do you like most about this group? The fun people, and "Funiculi Funicula."

An earlier pilgrimage
to see the butter cow.
<
Alice and her Aunt Diane at Skate on State. It was her amateur skating debut,
and she missed the Olympic team by three tenths of a point. |
Describe
your best/favorite band moment: Paying homage to the butter cow with other
band members at the 2001 Illinois State Fair.
What
are your hobbies? I love to read, host parties, bake and cook, wine taste,
play Dungeons & Dragons, and take road trips whenever possible.

Alice and colleagues “liberate France again” with a fine burgundy.
At
the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, where she was disappointed to find out there
is no football team there. > | | What
is your favorite Jell-O flavor? Black Cherry
Is there anything
else you want your band friends to know about you? I'm an Army brat, I
don't care for peas 'n carrots or chocolate, and Christmas time makes me unbelievably
happy. |
