Hello Band friends!

The month of May brings us a Band Member of the Month with humor and attitude. Mr. May has been a friend of mine for about eleven years now and I have seen many sides of him. People call him “Wheeze” or “Wheezer” because of his longtime asthma condition (and I usually call him “Geez/Geezer” around his birthdays, of course, due to the fun rhyming scheme -- life is too short to pass up entertainment like that!).

How do you make your living?
Lumber sales.
How long have you been a member of the Arts Alive Band?
Since day 1.
What instrument(s) do you play?
Bb trumpet, C trumpet, Eb trumpet, A and Bb piccolo trumpet, Flugelhorn, and F and Bb French horn.

Mr. May's hero has long been Bernie,
the deceased, yet still partying, insurance
executive from the movie “Weekend at Bernie's”.
Here,“Bernie” is propped up

How long have you been playing it/them?
If I told you, you would know how old I am.

Are you involved in any other musical groups, either inside or outside the Arts Alive system? If so, which ones?
Arts Alive Brass group, Arts Alive Jazz band, Southwest Community Band and church musician.
What do you like most about this group?

Describe your best/favorite band moment:
Not being on the band board because it gives me more time at Teehan's.
What are your hobbies?
Music, beer, bowling, beer, watching Cubs games, beer, water skiing, beer.
What is your favorite Jell-O flavor?
If it's a shot, it makes no difference.
Is there anything else you want your band friends to know about you?
My friends know everything because they have seen me in action.
