![]() | LONGTIME BAND DIRECTOR ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT TINLEY PARK, IL - Award-winning director Steve Platko announced his retirement as the director of the Tinley Park Arts Alive! Community Band at the end of the Summer 2004 concert season. He cited wanting to spend more time with his family and other projects as the reasons for stepping down as director. A retirement party was held on Friday, August 13 at the VFW Bremen Post 2791 in Tinley Park. Steve is the longest-serving, music director in the band's history. ![]() | BAND WELCOMES NEW DIRECTOR TINLEY PARK, IL - Native Chicago South-sider Brendan Koch (pronounced Cook) was named by the Tinley Park-Park District as the third director in the band's seventeen year history. Mr. Koch hiring follows the retirement of longtime director and band founder Steve Platko (see story above). The members of the band welcome Mr. Koch to the group. |
| BAND A HIT AT PRO BASEBALL GAME JOLIET, IL - The Tinley Park Arts Alive! Community Band performed the National Anthem to an enthusiastic crowd during the Joliet JackHammers game on Sunday, September 5 at Silver Cross Field in Joliet. Inspired, the home team defeated the Schaumburg Flyers 11-2 in the final game of the season. |

Dinner, held at the
VFW Bremen Post 2791 in Tinley Park. Money raised
at the dinner go towards music, instruments and travel expenses that are not covered
by our sponsoring organization. |
