Arts Alive Jazz at the 2000 Illinois State Fair

Here are some scenes from the Arts Alive! Jazz Band's annual trek to the the Illinois State Fair on Park District and Conservation Day.  It shows what happens when suburbanites are introduced into a wholesome agricultural environment.   Special thanks to Linda for bringing her camera and sharing!

The Band ready to take-off.
The Arts Alive! Jazz Band prepares for takeoff...
From left to right: Wheezer, Doody-free, Eric, Jeanette,
Brian, Chad, Miker, Ron, Barb, Skippy, Barb's boy toy.

A portrait of excellence, the Jazz Band blows them away in Springfield.

The sax line rips through another jazz standard: Elton John's “Crocodile Rock(?)”

“All hail the Butter Cow...”

Being at the State Fair let's us hang out with famous celebrities,
like this life-size cardboard cutout of Brittany Spears!

Skippy's favorite milk, Oberweiss, wins a blue ribbon!

Other performers at the fair included the world's loudest band at the House of Blues tent.

It's seems the band's after-the-concert activities has attracted the attention of Illinois' law enforcement community.

Having added Springfield, Illinois to the World Tour list, the band celebrates with something other than milk.
