Arts Alive Jazz at the 2005 Illinois State Fair

After three intense years of negotiations between us, our sponsoring organization and officials from the State of Illinois, the Arts Alive! Jazz Band was allowed to perform at the Illinois State Fair on Saturday, August 20 during Park District and Conservation Day.  The only thing hotter than the band was the oil used to fry the corn dogs! Thanks to Christy Claus for the pictures.

The Arts Alive! Jazz Band, also known as the Big Red Machine,
rocks the Fair from the Lincoln Stage.

“Man in Black” Brendan listens carefully during the sound check.

Brian's solo delights some of the Best Buy(tm) employees in the audience.

Always eager to support our fellow musicians,
we take in the Peoria Pops Swing Band
as they swing in air conditioned comfort.

Jazz Band members pose with one of Springfield's most historic citizens...honest!
